So almost everybody knows someone so jailbreaks and sells Firesticks and or loads Kodi onto their laptops, phones, etc...It seems like now the cable providers are catching wind of it, losing profit and are not too happy!
One of the most popular Kodi add-ons, Phoenix has been shut down! GASP!! And not only are they shutting down, several other streaming sites are doing the same. Navi-X, Ccloud, Reaper, Cerburus, Velocity and Zen just to name a few, have decided to stop allowing streaming. And our absolute fav, Sports Devil is beginning to show problems as well! ( *flips desk in a rage*)
However, for those of you who still need that Kodi fix, there are quite a few add-ons that are still active: Specto Fork, Genesis, Openload Movies, Wolf Pack, Flixnet and Supremacy.
Now back to the initial reason behind this post, as copyright infringement damages can run into the hundreds of thousands (the Dish Network suit demands $150,000 per infringement), developers could be hit hard. The lawsuit is asking that developers of so-called piracy add-ons don't affiliate themselves with Kodi. The team dreams of having legitimate services like Amazon and Netflix offer their own apps, but that's a tough ask when it's constantly having to deal with the negativity around illegal streaming add-ons on its platform.
